As some of you know, fake psychic and convicted con artist Sylvia Browne (who once told the parents of a kidnapped child that he'd been killed when he hadn't been, and who charges $700 for 45-minute phone readings) will be appearing Friday night Dec. 9 at the Rt. 66 Casino outside of Albuquerque, NM at 8 PM.

I have researched psychic detectives like Browne for years and I can tell you horror stories of the damage and exploitation these people do to desperate families of missing persons. I believe that Browne's fans and clients should be aware that she has a felony conviction for fraud by use of deception. To that end, I've had two banners made saying "Convicted Felon Sylvia Browne" and plan to display them to traffic headed to her event starting at about 7 PM.

Any volunteers in the Albuquerque area want to join me and local skeptics in helping expose this con artist for an hour or two of grassroots skeptical activism by the side of the road?

The Plan: Meet us at 6:30 PM at Mimmo's Ristorante & Pizzeria, 3301 Coors NW (Coors at Sequoia), from where & whence we will depart to protest Sylvia Browne's appearance at Route 66 Casino from 7-8.

Come out, stand up and be counted if you believe Browne's audience (and the public) deserve to know about her status as a convicted felon who defrauded people who trusted her. If we don't, who will?
