Dave,as in most cases of alleged ufo photographs, the authenticity of the story and accompanying photos is left open to debate. However,by use of a clever photometric argument,i am able to establish that the object in the left photograph(graveyard shot)is at some considerable distance from the camera, and is displaying clear visible signs of ground reflected light.I state that "after all factors investigated, geometric, and physical appear to be consistent with the assertion that an extraordinary flying object,silvery,metallic,disk-shaped,large in diameter, and evidently artificial, flew within sight of the photographer".I include that the evidence does not positively rule out a hoax, although certain"physical factors argue against a fabrication".Also after a computer-aided study of the photograph,i have found no evidence of a wire or thread suspending the object, and i also found some fuzziness of the image which might be r elated to atmospheric effects if the object were distant.I applied the same ananlysis to the second photograph(right photo on screen),and the initial decision and conclusion is that the photograph is a hoaxed effort.I reached this decision because the very dark colouration of the bottom of the object indicates that the image was not affected by aeriel perspective, suggesting that the object was very small and close to the camera.Photogrammetric analysis strongly suggests that the object in the photograph is probably a cutout or a small model photographed through glass using a tele-photo lens,or a small model suspended on thread photographed using a close-up lens.Definitive analysis using state of the art computer software also revealed inconsistencies suggesting a more elaborate hoax, methods such as a montage,or double exposure were found. Therefore, photograph on left(hovering over trees in the graveyard),8 out of 10,photograph on the right side of the screen,2 out of 10 for trying(o bvious hoax).Syd,optical research, opticle science, manchester,uk.
